Saturday night, we were suppose to be playing a show at Club 618 our last show in WI before we head back out on the road. The club screwed us over and canceled the show 2 days before we were suppose to perform. There excuse was, they double booked and apparently we got the cut. In place of Marashino, some DJ! Now that we've talked to some other Milwaukee bands this is not the first time this happened! So Saturday night we through a huge "Fuck club 618 party" which a lot of people attended. We would like to thank everyone for supporting us even when were not playing shows in WI! We had a great time and will miss all of you while were out. Please check out the shows page for our upcoming tour dates!  -Tom

Wow sums up last night pretty well.  Everywhere I turned on the fair grounds I saw the name Marashino.  The show just took my breath away - they looked and sounded great on State Fair's stage.  Thank you so much to everyone who came out for the show.  If you didn't get a chance to pick up the new CD, checkout the media page or myspace to download the new tracks.

98.5 WZLQ and the Mallard & Thatch Pub in Tupelo, Mississippi have been getting phone calls off the hook about Marashino's shows on April 14th and 15th. People around Tupelo are making such a buzz that the venue has been changed to a larger one. They will now be playing at Buster's Sports Bar (704 N. Gloster Street in Tupelo).  -Jess

The rafters shook last Saturday night at the BBC. People were lined up outside to get in the eastside venue and were well rewarded for their wait. Marashino took the stage to an over capacity crowd and rocked the house. Fans both new and old were treated to a rock solid, energy filled set from Marashino. Add in the equally impressive sets from Nightlife, Smile Thru This, and Fear of Water - it was a night to remember.  -Jess

Marashino returned to Waukesha's Mainstage for another night of rock music. Their set included a brand new cover of the song "Down" by Way to Fall (Rigel stepped in to help sing.) Way to Fall took to the stage for a great performance and we also heard a great performance by Edgerton. What a great night of music it was. (

Marashino trekked to the Marquette campus downtown for their latest show. The Annex played host to this 18+ show. They held the stage well even though difficulties with the sound and managed to put out an entertaining set. The night was rounded out by music from Best Friends Enemy and The Oprahs. (

Thank you so much for everyone who came to The Rave and helped move Marashino to the next round of the Emergenza competition. The guys took first place that night with 162 votes. That is the most votes for any band in Milwaukee. In fact, of the 5,607 bands in the entire international competition, Marashino currently is ranked 57! They are one of only 5 American bands ranked in the top 100. The Milwaukee finals are Saturday, May 28th at the Rave. As before, audience vote counts, so let's get these guys another win and take them to the next round in Detroit. (Jess)

Marashino was down in Wind Lake at Kelly's Bleacher's II tonight. They took care of the rock for the night while friends in the band Chasin Mason took care of the country. Good crowd and good music - it was a good time. (Jess)

Friday, March 11, 2005
Through beautiful blizzard like weather, band and fans make their way to West Bend and a place called "Games." After a little liquid warmth everyone soon forgets about the snow and the good times roll. There were so many people in that place - it was filled to capacity. Along with Marashino, we heard Seize the Day and Way to Fall (tonight they became the first band ever to cover a Marashino song). (Jess)

Saturday, March 5, 2005
We took a little road trip west today and introduced Madtown to Marashino. The guys played at a tiny, but cool bar called "The Klinic" on Park Street. A flat tire, shady BurgerKing, and an oddly placed bathroom just a few of the memorable stories from the night. All in all we had a fun night. (Jess)

Saturday, February 26, 2005
Everyone had a great time down at McAuliffe's pub in Racine. Racine friends new and old welcomed Marashino with open arms. Thank you to all who came to the show. We also heard sets from The Pulltops (their music is featured in the movie "Dare to Dream: The Alan Kulwicki Story") and Binky Tunny (her set included a guest guitar solo from Tom LaBrosse and a song from bar owner JJ). The Mainstage in Waukesha was host to the latest Marashino show. The guys rocked this bowling alley turned night club - churning out another great Marashino set. The rock continued with our friends in Way to Fall and Nuna. I was glad to see so many of the regulars out for the show. Thanks for stopping out. (Jess)

Saturday, January 29, 2005
It was a first time performance at John Henry's in Cudahy for Marashino. It was also their debut performance of a new song called "The Only Way Out is Through" Despite the sore throat and colds, Marashino put out a good show. Also sharing the stage that night were Oversoulss (featuring Troy Stetina) and Way to Fall. (Jess

Friday, January 22, 2005
Those who braved the snowy weather were treated to another great Marashino show.  Our night of fun and music will benefit many people whose lives were turned upside down from the tsunami.  A special thank you to Binky and her three friends who tirelessly rocked out front and center through the whole Marashino set list.  You guys are awesome.  (Jess)

Thursday, January 21, 2005
Round one of the Emergenza International music festival was a smashing success for Marashino.  They put on a stellar performance and, no question, won over the crowd.  This means the guys advance to the semifinal round held at the Rave Bar.  Their date is Saturday, April 2nd at 10 pm.  This is a great opportunity for ALL AGES to come out and support the band.  (Jess)

Friday, January 7th, 2005
BBC show was amazing. It was the biggest crowd I have seen there yet. Add to that, the best performance to date and it was quite the night. Marashino's set began with the intensity of "Hate to Face the Day" and built right through the finale and first ever public performance of "White Circle." This show was alive with energy. Thanks to Binky Tunny, Madison's Droids Attack and from Texas: Last Place you Look.  (Jess)

Thursday, January 6th, 2005
Marashino has been getting quite a bit of media attention these days. They were mentioned in the local music commentary of the January 6th edition of the Shepherd Express. The BBC show is announced in the January 7th edition of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Later this month, Marashino will be part of an article in MKE magazine. The interview and photo session are already finished and the article appears in an upcoming January issue.  (Jess)

November 2004
The end of the month was spent in the studio. They recorded new song, "Left Behind" and remade "Nothing More" - a familiar selection from their set list. Mixing and mastering are ongoing and the songs should be out by mid January 2005. Look for the online release in the media section of the site.  (Jess)

Friday, November 11, 2004
A new Marashino show is posted and it is not far off. On next Friday, November 12th, they will be playing at the BBC (located on the corner of North and Farwell). Show starts at 10pm and cover is $5. For all of you on the mailing list or anyone wearing a Marashino t-shirt, you can get in for a mere $3. It'll be a great show with Marashino and Nomonic. The word seems to have spread a bit, and I can confirm that you may have heard is true. Drummer Bob Packard and Marashino have parted ways. I haven't heard what projects Bob has in the works, but I will be sure and let you know when I do. Joey Zak is stepping into the roll as drummer - he is a talented musician and has much to offer. I look forward to seeing how the band evolves and grows. You can see Joey in his debut performance with the band next Friday. It'll be a great show. I'll see you there. (Jess)

Saturday, August 21, 2004
Neumannfest was quite the success. With a full night of music and a full bar of people, you can't go wrong. Marashino headlined the night and wrapped up things with a really fun show. There was an energetic and rowdy bunch of fans front and center for the whole set. Infinite thanks to Kenny Neumann and Dave Vnuk. The night wouldn't have been the same without the great line up... Sleestak, The Crossing, Amber Estate and The Oprah's.

Rock the Vote ended up being a really tight performance for Marashino. They played a very energetic show at The Rock Shop. Special thanks to everyone who came out to see the show. Also props to Lithic for putting the event together; Sixtycycle, great guys to hang out with; Bastard Sun; and Seize the Day.

WOW!  What an awesome day.  It was great to see so many people in the crowd and all the people who came over and met the band after the show.  The new t-shirts and CDs are great.  The bands before and after Marashino were all top-notch acts and great to work with behind the scenes.  Filling the huge stage at Summerfest is a tall order and Marashino took to the challenge like pros. Their presence on and off the stage is remarkable - a perfect blend of style and poise.  They hold their own even amidst national acts. On top of that they are down to earth and great guys to hang around with. They even grabbed the attention of Seether who was headlining that night. Shaun Morgan (Seether) and Amy Lee (Evanescence) could be seen nodding their heads to the music. It was a night to remember. (Jess)

Thursday, June 17, 2004
The acoustic set gets better and better every time I hear it. Tonight Marashino's performance at The Rock Shop was memorable. Those acoustic guitars were rocking and feet were tapping. Certainly no one there will ever forget the spontaneous mid-show entertainment provided by one outgoing fan. We also heard Brittney Mitchell, Dropmore Scarlett, and Neverstatic play. (Jess)

Friday, June 11, 2004
Sussex Youth Hall was alive with music last night. Marashino headlined a night of acoustic songs. The evening also featured Brittney Mitchell, Jay Matthes and Phil Norby. Each played some great original pieces. It was a nice evening and showcased the talents of all. (Jess)

Thursday, June 3, 2004
Marashino was something to see last night. They returned to the stage last night after a short break to record their new CD. It was great to see them have so much energy and fun, while performing. The people noticed and were drawn to the stage by the great sound of Marashino. Brittney Mitchell did a superb acoustic set to start the evening and the night was wrapped up by 41 Twin. (Jess)

Monday, May 17, 2004
For Marashino, the week started with a night of music at The Rave. With eleven bands total playing, there was music aplenty. Marashino was first up on the bar room stage. The show began with an intro created by Nick. Using sound samples mixed on his computer they took the stage to the sound of eerie strings that melded seamlessly into the live playing. It's great to see them adding new elements to their music. A lot of people stopped in to see the show - thank you so much for the support. (Jess)

Friday, April 30, 2004
April ended with another great performance by Marashino at Vnuk's Lounge in Cudahy. Thank you to my friends that came to the show. For those of you who haven't been to Vnuk's before - it is a very cool bar. Lighting and sound there is top notch. Marashino sounded and looked great on stage. The bar also has a fish tank which is very captivating - it is home to a blue lobster named Red. Equally captivating were the bands following Marashino - Left Setter, Nuna, and Verde Luz.

Friday, April 23, 2004
It was a good show for Marashino at The Rage in Sheboygan. The bar had a welcoming atmosphere and when the guys took the stage around 10, there was nice crowd. Somehow toward the end of the set, Eric's mic stand broke - it will never be the same. A lot of people signed up for the mailing list and Doug took a bunch of pictures for the website. The music continued with Onset Oblivion and Skywynd both putting on strong shows.

Friday, April 9, 2004
The stage at G-daddy's BBC is where Marashino performed their latest gig - and what a show it was. It was one of the most energetic and pulse rocking shows I have seen. It was the debut for their newest song, "Rain." The guys also expanded their horizons with a remix on their song "My Return" done by Nick. The music and shows have grown so much and in turn the crowds are too. It was great to see so many people out for Marashino and the two other bands, Way to Fall and Head to the Ground. (Jess)

Sunday, April 4, 2004
Last night Marashino played for the first time at Riverwest Commons. Also taking the stage were Fat Element and 20 Reasons Taken. Marashino had a substitute drummer for the show.  Jim
Boettcher from the band Head to the Ground filled in for Bob Packard. Jim did an awesome job. (Jess)

The April/May issue of ME Magazine is just now hitting the store shelves. The band Sevendust (tvt) is featured in an article about video games. In the photos for the spread, lead singer, Lajon is sporting his very own Marashino T-shirt. Check out the fans page for a sneak peek at one of the pictures. (Jess)

Saturday, March 6, 2004
Bret Michaels has postponed his upcoming show date at the Rave.  Because of contract obligations with Poison he is putting his solo gigs on hold for a tour with Poison.  Rumor has it that Poison will be touring with Kiss.  As a result of this, Marashino's much anticipated Rave performance in April is off the calendar for now.  (Jess)

Wednesday, February 18, 2004
The Rave invited Marashino to open for the Bret Michaels show on April 4th. They will be taking the stage around 6 pm - possibly a little later, definite times have not been finalized.  Talk to Tom and get your discounted tickets before they are gone.  (Jess)

Saturday, January 24, 2004
Marashino is one of four bands taking the stage at Vnuk's Lounge in Cudahy. The sound was top-notch and the energy level was high all night. Bleak Reality, Carbon Parlor, and Dysrhythmia all put on amazing shows. It was a very memorable night. (Jess)

Friday, January 23, 2004
Marashino plays to a crowd at Snapper's Saloon in Richfield. When I asked Nick about the show, he commented: "I thoroughly enjoyed the responsive crowd at Snappers. There is a wonderful community sense there I thought." Marashino shared the stage with Seize the Day and A Cellar Door. (Jess)

It's been awhile since I've updated the site, mostly due to being busy, and I recently had to have surgery to get my appendix removed. Fun huh? Anyway, a lot has happened!
